A Note About Language

Although people-first language has previously been thought of as the least offensive way to discuss disability, I prefer to use identity-first language through terms like “disabled person” instead of “person with a disability.” I find that this makes my writing easier to read and it legitimizes disability as a positive identity trait rather than one that negates humanity. I do not mean to invoke any negative feelings about appropriate terminology.  Please contact me through my contact page if I am using otherwise inappropriate or offensive terms.
